This blog is all about...

This Blog is all about...
Well my family of course! My babies are growing up way to fast and I want to remember everything. This helps, when I remember to update it.

But I also love to cook, take pictures, get crafty, and try new things.

My boys get tired of the same thing over and over again so I am constantly trying new recipes. I have started keeping up with them here. The original links are in each post to give credit to the creators. I add my reviews, changes, and pictures (sometimes).

Fun at the park!

This was a few months ago, before it got too hot out.
He had to go up there too.  She was afraid of the floor.  It has holes in it.
Too bad he wasn't looking at me too.  It's still a sweet shot.

I love these two.  She was so excited and so scared at the same time.  She refused to go down the slide, and refused to go anywhere else.  She wanted to stay up there all day long.  She is all smiles now...I was nice and didn't take any teary eyed ones this time.  She is our little girl with the C.U.R.L for sure!
This was a few seconds before his shoe flew off and hit me in the head....yeah, he got yelled at for that one.  Especially since he was trying to be "funny" about it.  Not so funny when you get yelled at by your Mom in public now is it?

#24 - #26 All American Dinner & Dessert

Happy 4th of July.  This is what we had to look forward to last night.  :)

    #24 BBQ Pulled Pork Sammy's
    #25 Homemade Macaroni Salad
    #26 Peach Cobbler

Dangerously good dinner & dessert / Everyone liked it (Well, Gabrielle only wanted Cheetos so almost everyone!)
Easy to make / takes a little time to put prepare

I bought a pack of four boneless pork roasts from Costco and so far they have been amazing. Little to no fat and just all around good.
*Liquid Smoke not in picture...Here is a list of all of the spices I used:
Liquid Smoke (I had Hickory)
1 Onion
Minced Garlic
Black Pepper
Chili Powder
Red Pepper Flakes
Paprika
Sea Salt
1 C of water

This recipe is a throw together. I chopped half the onion and put about 1tbs of liquid smoke in the bottom of the crockpot. Rinsed and added the roast and then the rest of the spices, onion, and garlic. I've found out the hard way that you almost have to over spice when using the crock-pot because from cooking such a long time the flavor almost cooks out. So I tend to just sprinkle them across the top of the meat pretty generously.  I'd say a TBS of each is pretty close.  Maybe a little less salt and red pepper flakes.  You can always add more, just not take away.  With the crock-pot, you can always add more and let it cook for another 30 minutes and see if you need to add more or anything.  Once everything was in there I cooked it on High for the day, about 10am.
We ate at 430 because it smelt so good and the meat was falling apart.

I had to get creative with this one because my celery was gross.  I added:
1 TBS Dill pickle relish,
1/2 packet of sweetener
1/2 C of Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 C of peas
It came out ok, next time I will leave out the pickle or add less lemon, because there was a definite tang to it.
The link says Cherry Cobler.  The only variation is for the filling, use below instead.
1/3-2/3 C of Sugar
1TBS of Cornstarch
1/4 C Water
4C of fresh sliced Peaches

Paper Only Please....

"Ooohhh Pretty!"  Is what she said when I went to get her from her nap.  Her masterpiece took us about a good hour to clean and about 3 cleaners to figure out what would take it off.  I think there is still some crayon on the walls.

Father's Day

This is what we came up with.  Thanks to Pinterest and my babies thumbs, we made it happen!
