This blog is all about...

This Blog is all about...
Well my family of course! My babies are growing up way to fast and I want to remember everything. This helps, when I remember to update it.

But I also love to cook, take pictures, get crafty, and try new things.

My boys get tired of the same thing over and over again so I am constantly trying new recipes. I have started keeping up with them here. The original links are in each post to give credit to the creators. I add my reviews, changes, and pictures (sometimes).

Welcome Little Layla

You were born August 4, 2011 at 3:55am.  8 lbs 1oz and 19.5 inches long.
Shame on me for taking so long.  It's going to take some time to get all of this right, but I swear that it will be right.

The night you were born was the second time that week we went to the hospital. The first time I went and got all hooked up and found out our doctor was on vacation. They gave us the magic shot, stopped the contractions and sent us home. That was Monday, your Dad was out of town working and came back in earlier so he would be close if needed.

Wednesday, Stacy and I went to the mall with your sister and walked as much as my feet could stand it. Finally, after all day and all night of more contractions I went back to the hospital at about 10 pm. After getting sent home two days earlier I was making darn sure the next time I went home we were carrying you out. So  after three shots and hours of waiting they finally decided it was time to deliver you. We got to meet our new precious baby at about 3:55am. Luckily you were a girl because we didn't gave a boy name picked out.

As far as the labor everything was normal. I had a few things happen that didn't the previous two c-sections, but nothing out of the norm. I remember being sore from air getting inside while they were playing tug of war trying to get you out. And I think that lead to the rest of my aches and pains. My IV got backed up twice so I had matching Popeye arms. I threw up after they moved me to the postpartum room. And I got staples instead of the glue Dr. Henderson always used. Our discharge nurse took the staples out before I went home and glued and taped me shut. She sent us home with two bags of goodies; from bathing stuff to formula.

We had almost all of the family for visitors. Everyone who could make it did. Stacy was there with us while Dad was at home with Ethan and Gabrielle. When Grandma got there he came down to be with me. After you were born they took turns during the day and your Daddy stayed the nights with us.  Thank goodness it was only for a few days.  We were home late Saturday night and life got normal.  I got to sleep in my own bed and you were snuggled up in your sleeper right next to me.

You with Stacy right after delivery.
