This blog is all about...

This Blog is all about...
Well my family of course! My babies are growing up way to fast and I want to remember everything. This helps, when I remember to update it.

But I also love to cook, take pictures, get crafty, and try new things.

My boys get tired of the same thing over and over again so I am constantly trying new recipes. I have started keeping up with them here. The original links are in each post to give credit to the creators. I add my reviews, changes, and pictures (sometimes).

Merry Christmas 2011

Continuing with our tradition, this year we decided to make a gingerbread train.  Last year we did a house, so this is us mixing it up.

Gabrielle got to help a bit more this year which kinda got on Ethan's nerves.  He was so worried about everything being perfect and it just HAD to look nice and all she wanted to do was eat it.

So she would try and try to get the pieces from him and HELP.....and the more she tried the more frustrated Ethan got.  I just loved his face here.
And hers too!  Poor girl just didn't get it.  Candy and cookies, but I can't eat them.  What the heck?!?!?!
Layla was just along for the fun.  Poor Ethan is gonna have his hands full next year.

As much as we all tried, it still looked like crap.  We couldn't get all the pieces straight for anything.  But what the hey, sprinkle some candy on it and it looks great!

 Now it was all smiles.

 CANDY TIME!!!

After giving Gabrielle his hat, he was worried about his hair.  Bedtime and he's worried about his hair...hmmm!

This year we simply didn't have room for a full tree and I wanted to do something different.  All the kids got their own tree.  Their own Bright.Shiny.Tree.  Next year I'll be better prepared and I don't think we'll have as much baby stuff out so it should be better.

Don't worry, we didn't forget about Santa!  He got a little old, and a little new this year.  Fresh baked cookies, rice crispy balls (the new), and hot coco.

Layla 4 Months

24.5 in (50-75%) and 14 lbs 2 oz. (50-75%)
Head - 43cm (90%)

We have a set bedtime routine.  Bath with all the girls, including me so you get time to play.  You love to kick and splash in the tub.  I think it's one of your favorite times of the day.  After bath we all get dressed and it's time for Gabrielle to go to bed.  Then you usually have a little power nap for about 10 minutes.  We wake you up to play and eat.  When you belly is full you are off to slumber land.

Right now you are sleeping ok.  Your only up about twice per night and the third time is when it's time for Daddy to get up for work.  Thankfully after  your fed and changed you go back to sleep for another couple of hours.

This was your contribution to the gingerbread train decorating.  It was late and this was your power nap.
But after that you were ready to play!

Layla 3 Months

 Always...Always Daddy's girl!
Your face just lights up, and so does his.  Makes a Mama's heart melt a little each time.

Your such a happy baby.  We have been thrice blessed.  I love my snuggle time with you and I think you do too!
You are very serious too.  You observe everyone and take in everything.

These are from my first mini photo shoot for your 3 month pictures.

These were from earlier in the day, I tried to take all of you to get some pictures of all the kids.  Needless to say I ended up with a couple decent ones where your sister wasn't crying.  She wanted to play and NOT sit still.  But I got this cute one with you and your brother.

Layla 2 Months

22.25 inches long (75-90 %) and 10 lbs 12oz. (50%)
Head - 40.25cm

The crazy faces of Layla!

Your eyes say it all.  And your hair kinda fell out on the front so you look like a little old man.

The pouty faces are still my favorite!

I think the flash surprised you a bit.  Love you silly girl!

And my sweet little angel baby....

Layla 1 Month

So sweet and so perfect.  As were your bother and sister.
At one week you were 20 in.(50%) and 7 lbs. 8 oz. (25-50%)
Head - 33.5 cm (10%)

This was at my one week check up with Dr. Henderson.

Ignore Gabrielle picking her nose :)  This was one of the few I looked ok in!

Since I was at the hospital for a few days she was glued to me when I got home.  I've never been away from her for longer than overnight.  Once she realized that I wasn't going anywhere everything was ok again.

You look so tiny snuggled up to Daddy.

And your cheeser of a brother!  He was so excited that we were all home again too.

At one month you were 21.25 in. (50-75%) and 8 lbs. 9 oz. (25-50%)
Head - 35.5cm (10-25%)

Gabrielle is such the little mommy to you.

You weren't to thrilled about bath time yet.  For now it's just cold and a pain in your butt.

And Ethan such the lover bug.  He just loves to spend time with you.

Your eyes took up half your face...just wait, your head gets bigger too and it all balances out!
