This blog is all about...

This Blog is all about...
Well my family of course! My babies are growing up way to fast and I want to remember everything. This helps, when I remember to update it.

But I also love to cook, take pictures, get crafty, and try new things.

My boys get tired of the same thing over and over again so I am constantly trying new recipes. I have started keeping up with them here. The original links are in each post to give credit to the creators. I add my reviews, changes, and pictures (sometimes).

Snow in the desert

I'm sure by now everyone has heard or seen Vegas snow. But it's a big enough deal to post about if you've heard about it or not! I was stuck at work when the most of it was happening, but Jared and Ethan went for walks and got some really good pictures of it. It was too cute, every so often he'd text me pictures as it was coming down so I wouldn't miss out...what a sweetheart!

*This is behind Ethan's school, it was coming down so hard that it made it look foggy outside!

Christmas

This was our first official Christmas in our house. Last year we did Hanukkah and this year we decided to do Christmas. Who knows what next year will hold ;)
My Mom and her family came in for the entire holiday week. I can't remember the last time I was able to spend Christmas with my Mom, so it was a huge deal to me. Their son Johnathan (my half brother/Ethan's uncle) is 10 yrs old and him and Ethan get along like best friends. They have only officially met twice but when they get together it's like they have know each other all along.
I was lucky enough to schedule most of that week off so we all got to spend a lot of quality time together. We picked out the tree, ordered in Chinese food, went to breakfast, took the boys to the Adventure Dome, they kept Ethan for a night so Jared and I have some time, and we kept Johnathan so they could have some time. All in all, it was a wonderful week and I really hope that we can do it again.

Below are a few pictures from our week and Christmas. As usual I forgot to get pictures of me with everyone because I was the one behind the camera....oops!

Thanksgiving

Lani got to host her first holiday in her new house! She gets Thanksgiving, I get Christmas. We had yummy turkey, mashed potatoes, potato salad, and our new staple for as many holidays as possible Sweet Potato Casserole (attached is the recipe). If you like sweet potatoes you will love this. It was amazing! I saw it on the food network thanksgiving special and then couldn't locate the recipe. It took me a while to find it but alas I did and I have it written down in about 4 different places so I won't loose it.
We had a very nice dinner with great company. Ian had to work but was able to swing by and spend a little bit of time with us.

OOPS part I

Here is a list of the little things I've left out or forgot to add over the past few months:
-When my grandparents came down we went to the Silverton and there was a mermaid in the fish tank. I love the way the rays always look like they are smiling.

-I lost a total of 26 lbs. Which kinda disappoints me that I had that much to loose in the first place. I can't tell the difference in pictures but I can in my pant size!

-I love my Winder delivery. I never run out of milk, eggs, juice, toasting bread for breakfast.
-Their juices are the best I've ever had.
-Winder milk has no smell. It only smells when it's bad. I love that!
-We went to the San Gennaro feast a few months ago and it was crowded, but the food was yummy and we had coupons to get in. Ethan had a ball on the rides and we pigged out on cheese steak sandwiches, garlic knots, and funnel cakes.

-Jared will be done with school this coming December!!
-Ethan grew a few inches and is now past my chin.
-I love shopping at Costco. The pre-made salads and take and bake pizzas are excellent.

As I remember the other things I know I've left out I'll do a "OOPS part II" :)

Holy Cow!

Another month of missed posting...shame on me. I've got snow, Christmas, family, New Year, and all kinds of misc goodies to write about. So my first personal goal for this new year is to post about all of them very soon :)
